Jessica has been in the dental field since 2015. She went through Roseville Dental Academy where she obtained both her program completion certificate and x-ray license. She was hired here at Waikiki Dental right out of the program as a hygiene assistant. During this time Jessica strengthened her skills by not only sticking to her duties to her hygienist but by helping out her co-assistants on doctor side, jumping in to assist the doctor, and some front office duties. Jessica also found her passion to teach and train the interns passing through the program. That’s when she knew she wanted a bigger role with the our academy. In 2016 Jessica became an assistant instructor, aiding the lead instructor with students and learning the programs. During this time, Jessica completed all the requirements needed to take the board exams and was awarded her RDA in November 2017. Shortly after Jessica became our lead instructor for our Dental Academy. Jessica’s favorite dental specialty is orthodontics and in November 2018 she obtained her orthodontic assistant permit. She also took it upon herself to get her CPR/BLS instructor license in 2019. She wanted to do this to offer this class to our students. Jessica is highly ambitious and is constantly keeping herself up to date in our fast evolving world of dentistry. She is very caring and passionate to share her wealth of knowledge with her students, peers, and patients.

Unlicensed dental assistants must successfully complete a Board-approved 8-hour infection control course before engaging in any basic supportive dental procedures that may involve exposure to blood, saliva, or other potentially infectious materials. It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that the unlicensed dental assistant fulfills this requirement.
Unlicensed Dental Assistants are now allowed to perform coronal polishing after completion of a coronal polishing course by an approved course provider.
