Jessica has been in the dental field since 2015. She went through Roseville Dental Academy where she obtained both her program completion certificate and x-ray license. She was hired here at Waikiki Dental right out of the program as a hygiene assistant. During this time Jessica strengthened her skills by not only sticking to her duties to her hygienist but by helping out her co-assistants on doctor side, jumping in to assist the doctor, and some front office duties. Jessica also found her passion to teach and train the interns passing through the program. That’s when she knew she wanted a bigger role with the our academy. In 2016 Jessica became an assistant instructor, aiding the lead instructor with students and learning the programs. During this time, Jessica completed all the requirements needed to take the board exams and was awarded her RDA in November 2017. Shortly after Jessica became our lead instructor for our Dental Academy. Jessica’s favorite dental specialty is orthodontics and in November 2018 she obtained her orthodontic assistant permit. She also took it upon herself to get her CPR/BLS instructor license in 2019. She wanted to do this to offer this class to our students. Jessica is highly ambitious and is constantly keeping herself up to date in our fast evolving world of dentistry. She is very caring and passionate to share her wealth of knowledge with her students, peers, and patients.
Rhina came into dentistry 16 years ago on accident. She was a single mom and wanted a career that would be rewarding and that would provide for her family. Rhina was originally interested in medical assisting but was advised by her counselor to research the dental industry. She saw the potential for growth and success in the diverse field of dentistry. Sure enough, she followed the advice of her counselor and has loved dentistry ever since! Rhina currently works chairside at a general practice in Roseville. Rhina joined Roseville Dental Academy in early spring 2019. We knew Rhina would be a great asset to our academy because she enjoys to share her passion and love for the dental world. Rhina also dedicates her free time to volunteering with Smiles for kids, Careforce, and Smiles for everyone foundation.
When she’s not working she loves cooking, road trips, and visiting her hometown, Half Moon Bay, CA with her daughters. She has a wonderful facebook page called " Dental Assistants Satisfied " where she invites dental assistants to connect! Check out her facebook page and give her a shout out!
”Smiling is a key element to a long healthy life. I am grateful to be in a career where I am dedicated to creating them.” ~Rhina Salinas, RDA
